Start Small & Forget About It.
One of the first things I have learned about money and something I have been taught since I was a child is, start small. Start by putting away a few cents/dollars depending on your income everyday. The trick is to start small, continue small but to forget about the money you have saved up. The forgetting part being the most important.
Lets be realistic, not everyone of us is privileged enough to be saving hundreds of dollars a week or as teens have them being saved by parents or guardians. However, the trick is starting and starting small. If you use your debit or credit cards a lot starting to save using this method is even easier. I know my bank has a service which automatically transfers anywhere from $0.50 to $5.00 for every transaction from my checking account to savings.
This means even with my morning coffee although I am spending money I am saving a bit. This starts a habit and after a while when you see at the end of the month you have saved about $50 dollars you realize that small daily transfers do add up. I know what you are saying- $50 is nothing, but this technique isn’t about saving hundreds and thousands but instead, its a step to take when you are just starting and thinking about developing savings and building wealth.
Let me know if you guys like this tip and feel free to comment and give me feedback.
